By the end of this unit, you should be able to make the following statements about your learning:

 

Listening/Speaking/Writing

I can say and write what sports I like and don't like.

I can list and spell my favorite free-time activities and those I don't like.

I can introduce another person, and talk about his or her free-time activities.

I can talk about when I do various free-time activities.

I can talk about what I am going to do on the weekend.

I can say and write the days of the week.

I can understand a basic introduction by a native speaker after listening multiple times.

I can pick the main free-time activities out of a text and sound out most of the words I do not know.

 

Knowledge/ Grammar:

I can explain what conjugation is and why it is important.

I can write all of the free-time activities on the vocabulary list.

I can conjugate any regular verb in the present tense.

I can list time phrases.

I can incorporate time phrases into a sentence at either the beginning or later in the sentence.

I can build yes/no questions out of any statement.
